The University of Virginia seeks to hire a donor relations professional to fill the role of Donor Relations Coordinator. The Donor Relations Coordinator is responsible for stewarding gifts to University scholarships and will act as a liaison between University Advancement Donor Relations and the Scholarships fundraising team as well as the Office of Student Financial Services (SFS).

The Donor Relations Coordinator will develop, implement, and manage a systematic stewardship program for expendable and endowed scholarship gifts at all levels; including working in coordination with Student Financial Services (SFS) and Financial Operations on fund use, award, and financial status, as well as creating a program to recognize scholarship donors. He/she will oversee customized stewardship, reporting, managing data and will provide fund oversight for scholarships in coordination with SFS. He/she will also proof gift acknowledgment correspondence for the University's President and Vice President for Advancement as well as assist Donor Relations staff with other stewardship and events related work as needed.
The successful candidate will have experience developing a program and creating a plan to execute time-sensitive projects, thinking creatively and strategically about existing programs and developing new ways of stewarding donors and their gifts to the University. The Donor Relations Coordinator will have exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills that foster positive relationships with internal colleagues and external alumni, parents, and friends. He/she will have experience proofing and preparing written communication for distribution to internal and external audiences. The Donor Relations Coordinator will have demonstrated success working within and across multiple database systems. The ideal candidate will have donor relations experience, including knowledge of stewardship practices as they relate to academia.

Knowledge and understanding of the University's mission, goals, academic programs and organizations.
Ability to think creatively and strategically about existing programs and developing new ways of stewarding donors and their gifts to the University.
Ability to navigate within and between various database systems to pull information and combine information into single, usable format.
Must have the ability to interact with senior administrators, donors/prospects, alumni, and development staff, with an understanding of protocol, political environment and implications, and confidentiality.
Ability to work evening and weekends as needed.
