Degree and Area of Specialization: BS/BA required, preferably in the biochemical sciences with an emphasis on the biochemistry, cell biology, immunology or genetics.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience: 2 years experience in a research laboratory preferred. Research experience in the following areas is preferred: molecular biology techniques, mammalian cell culture, cell biology, biochemistry or immunological techniques. Additional consideration will be given to applicants with previous experience working with transgenic mouse colonies. Demonstrated ability to learn new techniques and train others is desired.



Position Summary: The Research Specialist will work with the principal investigator and graduate students or postdocs in the Biomolecular Chemistry Department to support a robust research program studying unfolded protein response and organelle stress in mice. Work in the laboratory involves molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, cell culture, and in vivo mouse experiments.
Personal initiative, independence, strong organizational abilities and enthusiasm for laboratory research are essential.
