Department Overview
The Medical Director works directly with the PA Program Director and other faculty to assure didactic and supervised clinical practice experiences are designed to meet current practice standards related to the role of the PA in providing patient care. The medical director is expected to be actively involved in developing the program's mission statement, providing instruction to students, and evaluating student performance. The medical director must be available to participate in designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the curriculum and program.

Position Details
* This position is a part-time non-benefits eligible position.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

* Attend appropriate department/schools/university/committee meetings as scheduled, including participation in ongoing accreditation compliance activities.
* Participate as a member in the following committee meetings.
* PA Student Performance Committee (PASPC).
* PA Studies Curriculum Committee (PASCC).
* Department monthly meetings.
* PA Program Annual Planning Retreat.
* Model the PA-Physician Team to PA students.
* Assist in recruiting new clinical sites and clinical preceptors.
* Provide faculty development for new preceptors.
* Serve as a resource to other faculty in the PA program by participating in instructional delivery and design.
* Participate in peer review of teaching activities as assigned.
* Use effective communication skills when dealing with faculty and students.
* Participates in reviewing and revising the mission of the program.
* Comply with UNTHSC policies and other faculty responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

* Doctor of Osteopathy or Doctor of Medicine degree

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Previous experience as a PA Program Medical Director
