Position Summary
A postdoctoral research associate or more senior position is available in the Quantum Coherence Laboratory under the direction of Professor Jason Petta in the Department of Physics at Princeton University. The successful candidate will participate in the research activities of the lab with graduate and undergraduate students as well as other postdoctoral researchers.

Topological insulators support highly conductive surface states that may be useful in next generation quantum devices. However, most topological insulators are highly conductive in the bulk and transport through the bulk overwhelms surface state transport. Recently we have demonstrated the synthesis of Bi2Te3 in the form of highly ordered nanotubes. We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to lead the project over the next year with the option of reappointment based on satisfactory performance and available funding. Research tasks include the templated synthesis of Bi2Te3 nanotubes and their assembly in nanoscale electronic devices. The candidate must have experience in molecular beam epitaxy, metal-organic chemical vapor deposition, or chemical beam epitaxy. In addition, the candidate should have basic experience in sample fabrication and electron microscopy techniques. We seek candidates with strong leadership skills who will help foster a safe and efficient laboratory work environment.

Candidates for the position must have a Doctorate degree in Physics or a related discipline. This position is subject to the University's background check policy.
