William Paterson University, Wayne NJ, a Division III member institution of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, invites applications for a twelve-month fulltime position as Associate Director of Athletics. A member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference, William Paterson University sponsors 13 varsity intercollegiate sports. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Associate Director is responsible for assisting with the overall organization, administration and supervision of the intercollegiate program for men and women.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to staff supervision, coordinating of programs and initiatives to support student-athlete academic success and retention, serving as liaison to campus departments and organizations, oversight of game management and event operations, budget planning and monitoring, and representing the University at NCAA and conference meetings.
A Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree preferred. Five years of professional experience as an athletic administrator in intercollegiate athletics; knowledge of NCAA Division III rules; excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work evenings and weekends are required. College coaching experience preferred.
Anticipated Start date: July 1, 2017.
