Technical Delivery Manager
The Technical Delivery Manager will manage the successful delivery of IT infrastructure and applications in the enterprise environment. This position will require strong soft skills to work closely with other IT Operations and Engineering teams, as well as interacting closely with senior leadership teams to set priorities. Primary responsibilities will be to orchestrate and manage resources and process to achieve rapid delivery and execution of all phases of the implementation and build cycle across the IT Operations and Infrastructure lanes. Must be able to quickly analyze and break down complex problems and make quick data-driven decisions that best serve customers.
2.0 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive:
Orchestrate and manage delivery of IT projects and products using the appropriate agile project management methodology, learning & iterating frequently
Lead a collaborative dynamic planning process - prioritizing the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of dedicated build teams
Develop communication plan and frequent updates to senior management and customer. Provide clear and concise information required for decision making
Build Relationships to work at all levels of the organization, ability to present to senior level leadership, project teams and potentially vendors.
Direct the completion of tasks, manage timelines and deliverables across multi-functional teams, in a matrix environment
Manage the team task board and remove any impediments to the success of the team. Develop a predictable build capability model
Facilitate scrum and status meetings
Develop critical success factors to support SLA. Identify and implement status reporting and process improvements to ensure effective delivery. Apply the agile principles of transparency, teamwork, risk management, and communication to manage key infrastructure projects
Must be able to work nights and weekends if required
High Energy attitude with a 'Get Stuff Done' track record
5+ years' experience in actively managing IT projects and leading matrix technical teams using agile and Kanban methodologies
Proven track record implementing Agile methodologies and delivering high-level solutions
Create, maintain and organize backlog of tasks, epics, and stories in JIRA or similar application
Demonstrated leadership through influence. Self-motivated problem solver; able to thrive in a dynamic and customer-focused environment
Highly analytical, technically proficient and able to learn new tools quickly
Effective Communicator reporting accurate information that is clear, concise and visual. Must have superior oral and written communication skills
Analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
In depth understanding of IT operations (server, databases, storage, network, security, COTS applications, storage)
Anticipates potential threats (risks) to projects prior to becoming an issue and pursues mitigation
Proven track record of delivery of multiple parallel initiatives
Strong Microsoft project skills to build/edit project schedules, managing dependencies, schedule shifting
Strong Microsoft Excel skills to analyze detail data, what if analysis, etc.
Strong PowerPoint and Visio skills
PMP and CSM preferred
Bachelor's or Master's Degree
