General Summary of Position:
This integral position within the Office of Research Administration assists researchers with the development and submission of proposals for research funding in accordance with sponsor and university policies. The Office of Research Administration works with investigators to submit proposals to obtain research funding and to manage awards resulting from these proposals.

Essential Job Duties Include:

1. Prepare and submit proposals for research funding:
Prepare required sponsor forms as well as assist with the overall submission of the proposal to ensure a complete, compliant, and cohesive package.
Submit principal investigator's (PIs) grants to various sponsors within the federal, state and municipal governments as well as private industry and foundations.
Research and document new and emerging technologies required to electronically submit proposals.

2. Guideline review and interpretation:
Research and document continually evolving guidelines and information required to submit a successful proposal; review and interpret all guidelines informing PIs what is required for submission.

3.Data entry:
Maintain databases (PeopleSoft, proposal logs etc.) to ensure correct reporting of research funding activity.

4. Assist in maintaining sponsor database

Minimum Qualifications (Required):
-Bachelor's degree and three to five (3-5) years of directly related experience preparing and submitting proposals to federal and nonfederal sponsors for research funding
**Will consider applicants with high school diploma or GED/equivalent and seven to ten (7-10) years directly related experience
-The ability to work effectively with diverse groups

Other Considerations:
-Higher education experience preferred
-Strong ability to multi-task and handle stress of continuous deadlines;
-Ability to interpret complex guidelines;
-Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel both within and outside of the University
