Job Description

Must be highly motivated with good management and organizational skills complemented with effective communication abilities to interface with both internal and outside people. This position must possess a high regard for confidentiality and also have effective written and verbal communication skills.

Job responsibilities include keeping an up-to-date billing system since inaccuracies result in collection errors. Keeping a check on monthly receivables activity while making sure that billing, collection, and reporting activities are carried out per specified dates. Looking into and researching customer account details, which include non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities. Creating an appropriate communication system that reminds the customer about payment without offending them.

  • Maintain up-to-date billing system
  • Follow up, collection and allocation of payments
  • Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines
  • Reconciliation of accounts
  • Monitoring customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
  • Maintain accounts receivable customer files
  • Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash etc.
  • Prepare bank deposits
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries
  • Process adjustments
  • Organizing a recovery system and initiate collection efforts
  • Communicating with customers via phone, email, mail or personally

  • Knowledge of accounts receivable

  • Proficient in relevant computer applications
  • 1-3 years accounts receivable and general accounting experience
