Duties: The Kable laboratory in the Department of Psychology, University of Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time Research Specialist. The lab uses techniques from cognitive neuroscience, experimental economics, and personality psychology to investigate decision processes and their neurophysiological mechanisms in humans. Primary responsibilities will include recruiting participants, preparing experimental materials, and collecting and analyzing data for behavioral and neuroimaging experiments. The position will also involve administrative activities for the lab, such as assisting with purchasing as well as IRB and grant submissions. This position would be ideal for a recent graduate looking for additional research experience, and offers the opportunity to be involved in a vibrant and active laboratory. The position would ideally start in July or August of 2017.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree with some background in psychology, neuroscience, math/computer science or related fields, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to work flexibly and learn a wide range of new skills, and the enthusiasm and motivation to solve problems independently. Familiarity with statistics, programming skills (ie, MATLAB), and previous research experience are all highly desirable. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
