The Department of English, Creative Writing, at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, invites applications for a one academic year visiting Assistant Professorship-General Faculty. The appointment begins July 25, 2017. A strong background in contemporary fiction and creative nonfiction and an MFA are required. At least one published novel or story collection, as well as substantial publications in creative nonfiction, essays, profiles, reviews, etc. from major presses required. Teaching experience required. The department will select a candidate who can contribute, through research, teaching, and service, to the diversity and excellence of a well-established academic community (http://creativewriting.virginia.edu). The candidate will be responsible for teaching 2 courses in the Fall, 2017, and 2 courses in the Spring, 2018, and will include undergraduate workshops at intermediate and advanced levels.
