General Summary: The University of North Georgia is accepting application for the 2017 Summer Steps To College Director position. This position will coordinate the 2017 Steps to College summer program and is responsible for supervising teachers, teaching assistants, and students.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The Director will:
  • Administer the annual budget for S2C program
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise S2C program participants, faculty, and staff
  • Collect, analyze, and report data on student progress and program effectiveness
  • Manage day-to-day operations of S2C summer sessions (space reservations, transportation, food, field trips, student conduct questions)
  • Collaborate w/ participating school systems
  • Respond to requests for grant research/development/preparation for seeking funding
  • Create and maintain comprehensive records on personnel, students, budgets, expenditures, community contacts/communications, transportation
  • Perform continuing curriculum assessment and development


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Curriculum assessment and development; research in education; program management; proficiency w/ word processing and database applications.


Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • MA or MS (or higher) degree in education; MA or MS (or higher) degree in Applied Linguistics or TESL; MA or MS (or higher) degree in a related field.
  • Teaching at the middle, secondary, or tertiary levels. Experience working with youth in out-of-school academic programs and/or facilitating out-of-school programming is preferred. Experience working with grants is preferred.
