ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST II
Job Summary The Administrative Specialist II serves as the sole provider of administrative and clerical support for the African Studies Institute. This is a professional position, which requires a broad range of knowledge and skills, the ability to work under extremely limited supervision and to exercise independent judgment and initiative to complete job requirements. This individual will be responsible for managing the budget, event planning, course scheduling, and the day to day operations of the unit. The person will need to be able to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, visiting scholars and international vendors. Excellent organizational skills are needed to coordinate conferences, lectures and study abroad programs. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two (2) years related management experience; OR six (6) years related management experience; OR equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
