Seeking faculty to teach undergraduate beginning level industrial design studio course, with the focus on Form Giving, Drawing, Solid Works, Adobe CS, Manufacturing Technology and Human Factors. Faculty is expected to follow the guidelines in curriculum established in the BFA in Industrial Design major, maintain contact and report to program director on regular basis on students' progress. Candidate must be also available to advise students and provide professional input to the extent of participating in panel critiques and program development meetings. Uphold quality and maintain the high expectation of the program, by developing students' ability to rationalize, value judgment and communicate ideas, concepts and design solutions on a comprehensively sophisticated level.
Qualifications & Requirements
Earned master's degree in Industrial Design is preferred, or as equivalent, should have 4-5 years professional experience in the field of product development. Candidate must be fluent in free hand drawing, model making, Solid Works, Adobe CS and must have outstanding communication, presentation and organizational skills in order to manage class projects and assess learning outcome. The successful candidate shares our vision is expected to follow the guidelines, principles and objectives of the curriculum established in the Industrial Design major. Ability to draw students' attention to correlated subjects and interdisciplinary understanding while requiring high aesthetic and intellectual standards is fundamentally important. Must have flexibility with teaching morning and evening classes that meet two times a week for 2 hours and 20 minutes. Some teaching experience is preferred, but current professional experience is more important.
