Position Summary

The mission of the University Teaching and Learning Commons (UTLC) is to enhance UNCG's academic culture by providing our diverse faculty community with innovative research-based programs and services that promote effective teaching and cultivate student academic success. The Teaching Innovations Office is the central faculty development arm of the UTLC and provides university-wide support for a diverse teaching community.

The TIO provides: workshops and certificates in teaching areas, teaching institutes, lectures in effective teaching pedagogy, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) resources and support, community-building events and programs, instructional support, and support for the Residential Colleges Office (RCO) and Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creativity Office (URSCO).

The TIO is the central faculty development office of the UTLC and provides university-wide support for a diverse teaching community. The Coordinator of Faculty Development Programs and Services supports the Associate Director for the UTLC-TIO and is responsible for coordinating all faculty development efforts across the UTLC under the direction of the Associate Director.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree with teaching experience in higher education (may be as graduate student).
  • Experience working with faculty.
  • Experience with program support.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a faculty development unit.
  • Experience with course development.
