Assists pharmacists in data entry of patient information, prescription processing, medication preparation and distribution for the Meds-To-Beds Delivery program of the Chandler Retail Pharmacy or Good Samaritan Retail Pharmacy operating within the University of KY Ambulatory Pharmacy Services. Collects prescriptions and personal information, including insurance information, from patient rooms, over the phone, via fax or through the electronic medical record systems. Performs basic math skills. Fills prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, including non-sterile compounding. Delivers prescriptions to patient's bedside and collects payment. Uses a point of sale system and multiple computer devices and programs.

Physical Requirements

May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.



Shift

Rotating Shift- Chandler Retail Pharmacy Meds-To-Beds position working currently during the operating hours of operation for the Chandler Retail Pharmacy are M-F 730am-9pm, Sat 9am-5pm, and Sun 9am-5pm. Hours of operation and days are subject to change as is location of Meds-To Beds service area. Current shifts covered for the service are from 8am-8pm Monday thru Friday and 9am-5pm Sat/Sun. Days and hours of operation are subject to change based on future growth of the department, which may include week-end rotations and holidays. This is a full-time position, therefore must have availability during hours of operation. May work a rotating schedule and schedule may flex to later hours based on business growth. Position may work a rotating schedule during these hours which equates to a 37.5 hour work week. May assist in pharmacy technician duties in the Chandler Retail Pharmacy.



Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

This position requires dependability, and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

Preferred Education/Experience

High School Diploma plus 2 years' experience, associates or bachelors preferred. Hospital and/or Retail pharmacy technician experience preferred but not required.
