Associate Professor in Educational Leadership Studies
The Department of Educational Leadership Studies in the College of Education at the University of Kentucky invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track faculty position at the associate professor level. The nine-month appointment is effective August 16, 2017. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The department is a professional community dedicated to high quality teaching and the promotion of research and scholarly activity that supports the preparation and development of P-16 educational leaders.
This position is in the Regular Title Series faculty category and requires the faculty member to teach 12 credits per year in educational leadership and other areas of need based on expertise. The Regular Title Series appointment requires the faculty member to also conduct research/scholarship, serve on graduate committees, and engage in service-related activities.
The successful candidate will possess an earned doctorate (PhD, EdD, or equivalent) in educational leadership studies. The ideal candidate for this position will have a record of research and scholarship, service to the field, and ability to secure extramural funding to support the mission of the college. Expertise is required in the following areas: educational leadership, school technology leadership, research methods, online instruction, and national and international recruitment.
The candidate will be expected to teach online courses in educational leadership, school technology leadership, and research methods across graduate programs (MS, EdS, EdD, PhD). The candidate will advise doctoral students and serve on doctoral committees, represent the department on college and university committees, participate in domestic and international student recruitment, and participate in national and international professional organizations and state initiatives. Candidates should be able to work in a collaborative environment and be prepared to co-teach with peers and practitioners in innovative contexts.
