General Summary of Position:
The Department of Public Health in the College of Health Sciences at UMass Lowell is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and students and seeks a full time faculty member with expertise and research interests in Health Care Management. The candidate will be appointed at the Lecturer level. Teaching responsibilities include core public health courses at the graduate and undergraduate level in healthcare management, health policy, and healthcare systems.
The Department of Public Health is located within the College of Health Sciences at UMass Lowell. The College of Health Sciences is a dynamic, growing College that prepares professionals and scientists in a wide range of health science fields including applied, clinical and translational areas. A large research program and vibrant community partnerships and engagement opportunities enrich and support our educational programs. The successful candidate will work with internal collaborators in the College of Health Sciences and the Department of Public Health, as well as with external academic practice/industry partners.
Lecturer is a non-tenure track faculty position and has a combination of teaching and service components. All lecturers have important service roles in support of their department and college. We seek applicants recognized for teaching excellence, working with a diverse population, and excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Preference will be given to candidates with teaching interests in one or more of the following areas: (1) health services research, including health economics, comparative effectiveness, outcomes research or technology assessment; (2) evaluation of health programs, health services, and/or public health programs, or public administration; (3) health services management/health care administration, including health care organizations, institutional management (hospitals, nursing homes, managed care, etc), organizational behavior, or financial management. Emphasis will be placed on experience in operational responsibilities as well as financial decision making. Candidates with a background and/or experience in public health are preferred.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):
-A Master's Degree in Public Health, Health Care Management or other related Public Health field
-The ability to work effectively with diverse groups
-Doctoral degree in Public Health, Health Care Management or other related Public Health field
Discipline-specific teaching experience preferred
-Experience in fostering interdisciplinary initiatives
-Excellent oral and written communication in English and organizational and networking skills
-Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching & scholarly activity
-Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development
