TENURE TRACK/TENURED FACULTY POSITIONS - ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE IN GEOSPATIAL BIG DATA (GBD) ANALY
Under the new leadership of Dean Elizabeth Loboa, the College of Engineering (CoE) at the University of Missouri (MU) is hiring approximately 20 new faculty in the area of Big Data analytics. A significant number of these will be joint positions between the CoE and other divisions/units on the MU campus. Accordingly, here we seek applications for a joint faculty position between the Geography Department in the College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) and a relevant CoE department. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in interdisciplinary research and teaching that supports both divisions/departments. However, the candidate's tenure-home will be in single department and determined by mutual agreement and with significant input from the successful applicant.
Geospatial Big Data (GBD) science / analytics is an integral part of many important research areas such as GIS / remote sensing, population / health dynamics and modeling, defense and security, environmental / Earth system dynamics, and advanced geospatial data exploitation and visualization. We invite applications for this joint-hire faculty position with demonstrated experience in GBD science / analytics for one or more of these research areas. Applications for tenure-track/tenured positions are solicited at any rank, but with a strong preference for the Assistant / Associate Professor levels.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in geography, geo-informatics, engineering (electrical, computer, civil, etc.) or related fields such as computer science, data science, etc. Candidates must have significant experience in the development and/or application of geospatial big data science / analytics, and must have a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research and teaching.
Salary commensurate with Education and Experience.
