Job Description

Boutique PR agency representing tech startups across 3D printing, AI technology, e-commerce, enterprise software, real estate and health tech industries is looking for a Senior Account Executive with 4-6 years of agency or in-house experience to join its fast-growing team in New York City.

Ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced environment, has impeccable communications and leadership skills, and is passionate about all things technology. The Senior Account Executive will manage a team of Account Executives and Account Coordinators, report directly to the principals, and assist with running point on assigned accounts.

  • Minimum of 4-6 years public relations and communications experience (preferably in an agency setting within the technology space)
  • Bachelor's degree in communications or journalism
  • Strong interest in technology, demonstrating a clear understanding or passion to learn about how things work and the impact it can have on our lives or the way we work
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, meet tight deadlines and lead a team of AE's and AC's
  • Strong relationships with editors, bloggers, reporters, producers and conference organizers
  • Macro-level thinking and ability to adapt to different industries
  • Track record for programming clients at conferences and securing press coverage on behalf of clients
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills for client and partner relations
  • Strong work ethic
  • Professional conduct in and out of the office while conducting agency business

  • Writing - news-writing (including Associated Press style format); copy (including newsletters, presentations, proposals, etc.); press material (releases, one-sheets)
  • Computer - Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Research & surveying
  • Management - time, team and project management
  • Communications - general knowledge of all tools used to support communications and branding campaigns (i.e., media relations, social media, Cision, advertising, collateral, events, Internet, grassroots, etc.)
  • Creativity and ability to think outside of the box

  • Simultaneously manage and coordinate multiple campaigns/initiatives
  • Lead client accounts and manage team to ensure quality of work and that projects are completed on-time
  • Generate new press opportunities for clients and growing their share of voice in industry conversations
  • Develop creative ideas and strategies across online and in real environments to further drive the impact of client campaigns
  • Oversee accounts and take a proactive approach in finding new opportunities for clients
  • Mentor and train junior team members to support the overall growth of the company
  • Work independently to execute campaigns/initiatives from beginning to end
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of the technology industry and how clients would fit into the landscape at a macro-level
  • Participate in client meetings/calls and bring new ideas backed by logic, solid research and reasoning
  • Prepare and run point on client presentations, reports, recaps and meeting agendas

Three writing samples required (press release, media pitch and news article).
