Job Summary/Basic Function: The Department of Educator and Leadership Preparation is seeking applications for a tenure track position Assistant Professor in Early Childhood. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Early Childhood while working collaboratively with faculty to build a comprehensive educator preparation program supporting diverse populations. The supervision of field based students and/or student teachers as well as teaching of courses at multiple sites with alternative scheduling is possible. Mentorship and collaboration is essential in addition to the involvement in campus activities and other responsibilities as deemed necessary. Active service and research agenda with publications and conference presentations are necessary as well as practitioner experience in educator preparation and certification or preparing early childhood professionals for family and community based settings. Quality performance will be expected in teaching, student mentorship, community service and active University committee participation.
Work Hours: Dependent on course and institutional schedules. Teaching may include day, night or weekend classes

Necessary Qualifications: Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution in Early Childhood or a closely related field specific to Early Childhood [i.e., Curriculum & Instruction with cognates in Early Childhood].
18 doctoral hours in Early Childhood (excluding dissertation coursework).
Necessary Qualifications: A minimum of three years early childhood teaching experience (EC, Pre-K - 6) within an inclusive public school and/or early childhood setting.
Preferred Qualifications: University teaching and supervisory experience within a filed-based program.
Experience with educational technology and distance learning.
Experience seeking external funding.
Candidates prepared to engage in cross-disciplinary teaching, research, and service.
