Job Summary/Basic Function: The College of Education & Human Development, Department of Counseling, Health & Kinesiology, seeks candidates for a full-time, tenure-track appointment beginning Spring 2017 . The appointment is for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Community Health. Successful candidate will teach undergraduate/graduate level courses in Health while working collaboratively with faculty to build a comprehensive health program supporting diverse populations. The supervision of field based students and/or interns are also possible. Mentorship and advisement of students are essential in addition to the involvement in campus activities and other responsibilities, as deemed necessary. An active service and research agenda with publications and conference presentations are necessary. Quality performance will be expected in teaching, student mentorship, community service, as well as active university committee participation.

Work Hours: Depends on course schedule.

Education

Necessary Qualifications: An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in Community Health or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience

Necessary Qualifications: Have a record of scholarship, teaching and service in a Community Health related field to hold the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

Preferred Qualifications: Currently teaching health related coursework at a college/university.

Bilingual (English/Spanish Language Skills) and experience working with bilingual community health academic programs.

Ability to work cooperatively with others and provide excellent customer service to students, employees and a diverse community. Ability to multi-task.
