The Darden School of Business and the Center for Academic Strategic Partnerships in Interprofessional Research and Education (Center for ASPIRE) at the University of Virginia invite applications for a post-doctoral scholar beginning at the start of the academic year, fall of 2017.

The research associate works with the UVA Center for Academic Strategic Partnerships in Interprofessional Research and Education (Center for ASPIRE) and faculty at the Darden School of Business to focus on crucial research questions related to team-based health professional leadership, management, education and care quality.

Responsibilities Include:

Work closely with faculty from the Health Sciences Center, the Center for ASPIRE, the School of Nursing, and Darden supporting research and data analysis activities pertaining to projects related to team based health professional leadership and management.
Identify opportunities to apply research findings to improve education for health care providers and to improve the quality of care delivered in clinical settings.
Collaborate and support faculty/principal investigators in writing articles for publication and grants.
Interact with investigators from multiple fields through scientific meetings and presentations.

Ideal candidates will have:

PhD completed or near completion in nursing or other clinical discipline with expertise in behavioral research methodology.
2-3 years of professional experience in a complex health care organization.
Subject matter expertise in clinical health care, preferably nursing
Ability to utilize experimental and field research methods.
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication.
Proven ability to clearly articulate specific information in areas of subject matter expertise.
Knowledge of grant writing processes and ability to create compelling applications.
Ability to conduct and synthesize literature reviews.
Demonstrate ability to multi-task and work with individuals.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Work with senior faculty to accomplish goals.
