Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary for this position is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

The University of Colorado Denver l Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking applications for a Dietetic Technician. This full-time, University Staff (non-classified) position is responsible for:
Performing a variety of duties involved in assisting metabolic dietitians in monitoring laboratory values, completing diet analysis, making diet changes, communicating with patients and/or their families, and assisting with group education classes. Specific duties include analyzing diet records from patients with inherited metabolic disorders; collecting, analyzing and tracking values; assisting Registered Dietician (RD) with; calculating diet changes and tracking lab values with the assistance from the RD; maintaining and stocking metabolic formulas in the low protein food store; and tracking stock levels using an Excel spreadsheet. After specific training this position will be responsible for providing three day intake or 24 hour recall from patients over the phone and in a clinic setting. Guidance from the RD will be provided when emergent situations arise or with situations unfamiliar to the Diet Tech.
Examples of Work Performed:
• Maintains day to day operation of dietitian assistant clinical functions
• Performs nutrition screening
• Responsible for executing 24 hour dietary recalls
• Performs diet analysis, diet changes and diet counseling
• Updates the Phenylketonuria ( PKU )Metabolic Disease registry data entry as directed
by Registered Dietician; the registry is a database used for PKU Demographics,
Outcomes and Safety
• Maintain stock levels of metabolic formula in the low protein food store

§ Ability to interpret complex rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
§ Experience that demonstrates strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to establish rapport with persons of diverse backgrounds which also includes experience working with students, staff, and faculty, within a higher education and/or academic medical environment.
§ Must possess a professional demeanor and have experience that demonstrates problem solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
§ The successful candidate will be detail oriented, self-motivated, a fast learner and possess exc elle nt time management, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
§ Ability to take direction and use independent judgment to coordinate various projects and meet multiple deadlines
§ This position will operate under the supervision of the Director of the IMD Nutrition program.
§ Performs work with minimal supervision and oversight. Work assignments are generally structured. Employee is responsible for organizing complex, varied, and simultaneous coordination of several functions, processes or projects in various stages of completion along with supervisory oversight.
§ Associate Degree in Nutrition
Substitution: Professional Clinical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the Associate's degree requirement.
