Overview

The School of Architecture at Princeton University seeks applicants for a Research Assistant position as part of a research project under the auspices of the School of Architecture and funded by the National Science Foundation.

The Research Assistant will work with the senior faculty members to develop flood and climate adaptation analyses for two communities in the Jamaica Bay, New York, an area focusing on coastal resiliency and flood mitigation through specific architectural and landscape proposals. NOTE: This is a term position with an anticipated start date of June 2017 and extending for 12 months with the possibility of being renewed for an additional 3 months as required.

Responsibilities

The Research Assistant will be responsible for employing design software (such as Autocad, Rhino, and GIS) and digital model making skills to create and assist in creating digital and physical modeling of the geomorphology, hydrology, and sedimentary dynamics in Jamaica Bay, New York as a way to examine flood and climate adaptation in the area.

Qualifications

Position Requires:

Master of Architecture degree

Proficiency in design software (Autocad, Rhino, GIS) along with strong digital model making skills.

The final candidate will be required to complete a background check successfully.
