Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Wisconsin Energy Institute (WEI) Administrative Officer, this position is responsible for performing paraprofessional human resources activities in the areas of recruitment, classification, payroll and benefits. The Wisconsin Energy Institute has approximately 175 employees and supports faculty, academic staff, university staff, graduate students, undergraduate students, employees-in-training, and limited term employees. This position will serve as Human Resources support to the WEI Administrative Office, and will work directly with the Office of Human Resources in the College of Engineering (COE).

Created in 2009, the Wisconsin Energy Institute (WEI) supports the energy-related research of more than 100 faculty and scientist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. As a national recognized, interdisciplinary research institute, we:

Discover and deeply innovative energy technologies and public policy solutions
Provide a public forum in which to learn about and discuss energy challenges
Engage industry in high-impact research collaborations

This position will be responsible for the Institute's payroll and benefits activities associated with more than 130 full and part time employees. The department is funded by federal research support as well as campus support. Funding designations include: 133, 136, 144, and 150. In the role of benefits coordinator, this position supplies benefits information to different classes of employees, each with a unique set of benefits.

The individual must be able to manage multiple, multi-faceted, detailed responsibilities ranging from day-to-day to extremely detailed activities.



Schedule Comment: 8:00-4:30 MTRF, with 30 min. lunch
