Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Associate Director, Development Services, the Report Writer creates reports and provides technical assistance to end users of Banner, Tableau, Web Focus, and SalesForce.

Job Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Associate Director, the Report Writer performs the following tasks:

• Support all users of the Banner and SalesForce databases
• Utilize software and hardware resources to produce reports for end-users
• Utilize Tableau, SQL, MS Access, SalesForce, Rapid Insight, Web FOCUS to produce reports, and lists in various formats, including Excel spreadsheets
• Maintain acceptable user turnaround time for data requests
• Maintain documentation on user requests
• Assist the Associate Director with data retrieval or structures which will improve user support
• Perform data analysis and predictive modeling of donor and alumni statistics
• Create reports using sophisticated 4th generation programming languages SQL and FOCUS
• Adhere to statistical policies so that alumni and donor attributes are defined and cohesive throughout the University
• Create, update, and manage Perfect Forms including training end users
• Create and manage the yearly statistics reports including year-end performance, VSE Survey, US News and World Report Survey
• Develop user facing dashboards and data reporting tools that improve user productivity
• Responsible for training end users on the use of new reports and reporting tools
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of two years of experience and extensive knowledge in SQL programming language, including demonstrated application of higher level functions to specific business processes
• Minimum of two years of experience in maintaining databases, producing statistics, and technical support
• Ability to perform data analysis and predictive modeling of donor and alumni statistics
• Minimum of two years of experience with Banner database
• Ability to deal with highly confidential and sensitive material in a professional manner
• Ability to work both independently and in close conjunction with others
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal input from superiors
• Ability to learn and apply SalesForce data structure and reporting tools
• Proven superior skills in customer service
• Ability to communicate clearly with University community on database reporting issues
• Capacity and willingness to learn quickly and independently
