The Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, College Park, is seeking a Communications Manager. The employee in this position will be responsible for managing and enhancing the College's public face through communications, public relations, and marketing.
Duties: Manage and enhance the College's public face, including communications, public relations, recruiting, and marketing. Write press releases and newsletters; create content for, develop, and manage the college's website; design and manage the college's social media strategy; and design and execute recruitment strategies for the College.
Write, edit, design, and lay out college publications and marketing and recruitment materials.
Develop, implement, and sustain the college's public relations, communications and social media strategy and presence. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree is required as well as at least three years of professional journalism or communications experience. Excellent public relations, marketing, writing and multi-media skills are also a must. Journalism experience is preferred.
