Occupational Summary

Perform a variety of complex technical duties involved in conducting laboratory tests, experiments and determinations in support of Duke University research operations.

Work Performed

Perform studies in animal models including inoculations,tissue/biological sample collection and processing.Molecular biology tasks, including DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, Westernblot, ELISA, and biological sample preparation for microscopy, sequencing, and other applications.Basic microbiology, including media preparation, aerobic and anaerobicculture.Maintain records and monitor experimental data. Organize data in spreadsheets and documents for analysis and presentation. Meet routinely with the senior investigator for experimental planning and data analysis. Assist other laboratory members, as designated by the senior investigator,with assays and data collection.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
