PENN MEDICINE CLINICIAN
Duties: Provide otorhinolaryngology services to the trauma program at the Presbyterian Medical Center and the inpatient consult service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The Penn Medicine Clinician will also participate in the training of residents and medical students. Services will be provided in a prompt, competent and courteous manner in accordance with generally accepted professional standards and the standards established by the department and the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
Participate in 50 hours per year of active and high quality teaching or equivalent service. Prepare, in accordance with generally accepted medical practice and with all policies and procedures of UPHS, records of all professional services rendered to patients. Obtain and maintain appointments and clinical privileges to the medical staff to the hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Health System designated by the department. Obtain and maintain an appointment to the associated faculty of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Obtain and maintain a DEA license and a medical license to practice without restriction or limitation in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Obtain and maintain status as a participating provider for all insurance programs directed by UPHS; accept assignment to payment under, the Medicare, Pennsylvania Medical Assistance and Pennsylvania Blue Shield programs; and, participate in any other third payer program, including any health maintenance and preferred provider organization, in which, UPHS directs the Penn Medicine Clinician to participate.
Comply with established policies, practices and procedures of UPHS regarding billing and collections. Participate in CPUP malpractice insurance plan. Abide by bylaws and policies of the University of Pennsylvania, UPHS and CPUP.
Qualifications: Highly advanced professional discipline. M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree and 0 to 1 year of experience required.
License to practice medicine without restriction or limitation in the state of Pennsylvania.
PA DEA license.
Successful completion of an accredited residency program in otorhinolaryngology required. Completion of a fellowship in reconstructive surgery preferred.
