Financial Aid Manager
The Financial Aid Manager is responsible for supervising processing staff, application review, timely execution of financial aid packages, monthly reconciliation of state and federal funding, return of Title IV aid and Satisfactory Academic Progress evaluations. The Financial Aid Manager will focus on an area of expertise while maintaining broad knowledge of the financial aid office functionality.

- Develop and manage financial aid processors to create a supportive, open environment for employee development. Supervise assigned staff by providing coaching sessions, completing mid-year and annual evaluations and managing attendance. Provides clear processes to ensure employees have a solid understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
- Supervise processing staff to ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks and adequate operational coverage.
- Ensure all federal, state and institutional rules and regulations are adhered to. Ensure all processing functions are executed within compliance. Assist with audit reviews.
- Ensure all functions related to application review, determination of student eligibility, and fund awarding and disbursement are performed timely and accurately.
- Ensure federal funds processing including origination and disbursement reporting, error resolution, R2T4 calculations, reporting and communication and monthly reconciliations are performed timely and accurately. Ensure disbursement schedule is communicated with Business Affairs.
- Ensure state aid processing including determining eligibility, awarding, reporting and reconciliations are performed timely and accurately; and within compliance. Assist with audit reviews.
- Perform Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Evaluations. Provide clear timely communication to students concerning SAP status.
- Ensure critical thinking and problem solving skills are used to thoroughly research and document student requests and provide issue resolution following established procedures; and maintains research documentation. Uses superior communication skills to provide outcomes.
- Work closely with all levels of management and peers; provides support and feedback in regards to issues that lead to errors. Communicates solutions and devises standards of procedure to eliminate issue recurrence.
- Manage Financial Aid Help Desk ticketing system to ensure timely resolution of processing tickets.
- Remain current on federal regulations, state regulations, and office policies and procedures.
- Participate in special events and evening and weekend work as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of work related information and material.
- Create and sustain a culture that consistently supports our institutional core values.
- Perform other duties as assigned to assure successful achievement of the department's goals.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrate progressive leadership and utilization of administrative systems in an enrollment management focused financial aid environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; writing composition.
- Strong knowledge of aid regulations.
- Demonstrate competencies working in technology driven operation.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work collegially and collaboratively within a team and able to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, preferably in a related field
- Minimum of four years of financial aid operations and/or administrative management experience.
- Experience with Colleague preferred.
