Job Summary: This position provides complex administrative support for the Associate Dean of Faculty Development and Affairs (ADFDA) and coordinates critical faculty development and governance activities in the School of Medicine and Public Health.

The incumbent will use a good working knowledge of the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) and UW-Madison policies and procedures to provide a broad range of administrative assistance required to meet departmental and SMPH operational goals. The incumbent will serve as the first point of contact over the phone and in person for visitors to the office of the ADFDA, and represents the SMPH in a professional and courteous way in all contacts. The incumbent will use a thorough understanding of the activities and responsibilities of the ADFD to independently direct inquiries and determine appropriate responses.

Additional primary duties include management of the calendar for the ADFDA; scheduling meetings and obtaining and providing needed resources. This requires frequent contact with other SMPH and University offices; preparing draft and final copy correspondence for the ADFDA; planning and making meeting and conference arrangements and travel arrangements for the ADFDA; taking and editing meeting minutes; and developing and preparing reports.

This position requires strong, demonstrated organizational and communication skills, the ability to monitor and coordinate sensitive and confidential matters, coordinate multiple tasks, and the ability to interact effectively with faculty, students, staff, and the general public.



Requirements: The starting pay rate will be dependent on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.

Minimum 2 years professional administrative experience required. Associate degree or BA preferred.



Schedule Comment: Standard business hours are 7:45-4:30 p.m. Schedule can be flexible and will be determined at hire.
