Develop and implement data systems to support analytics projects Identifying, organizing and integrating appropriate information and data including electronic health record (EHR) data elements within Maestro Care and relevant external data.
  • Maintains an advanced understanding of the data model and the use of assigned clinical systems and Epic modules.
  • As needed, obtains additional Epic certification and proficiency as defined by management through a combination of classroom instruction at Epic (Madison, Wisconsin), self-directed learning, multiple project assignments and competency exams, within defined timeline.
  • Proficiency working with Excel to prepare data for statisticians and researchers.
  • Holistically evaluates requests and project collaborations to seek opportunities to complement innovation efforts in Duke Health.
  • Documents and recommends workflow changes, including technical / functional requirements, to generate essential data to support DIHI deliverables. Safeguards the integrity and security of institutional data. Business and innovation requirements gathering and management Interacts with leadership and clinical teams to support health care innovation initiatives, performance and quality improvement activities. This will include team facilitation approaches to achieve desired objectives.
  • Collaborates with key business and clinical stakeholders to determine requirements, rules, needs, specifications, feasibility (workflow and resources), and priorities associated with DIHI initiatives.
  • Analytics project design execution and management Provides project management support for DIHI analytics initiatives.
  • Manages workflow and consistently meets agreed upon deadlines. Escalates issues, concerns and barriers to DIHI Program Director.
  • Works collaboratively with clinical and research innovators to develop project requirements, use cases and implementation design. Partners with multi-disciplinary teams on all projects.
  • As such, will ensure that a consensus among the business users for best practices has been achieved before implementation. Analyzes data using statistical techniques to: identify patterns, trends, and influential factors, evaluate impact of interventions, and identify opportunities for innovation and quality improvement. Develop, maintain and disseminate analytics support tools to aid innovation Utilizes working knowledge of appropriate tools to meet complex ad hoc analytic needs. Develop new tools to support innovation, population health and Represents and promotes DIHI at professional conferences and conventions as appropriate. Provide mentorship support to statistics or computer science students at Duke University who support DIHI projects as interns or team members.
