Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate large, complex data sets in an HIV vaccine immune monitoring laboratory while adhering to deadlines and Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) guidelines.
  • Perform quality control tasks for HIV vaccine trial pre-clinical and clinical trial assay data as part of a multi-step approval process before reporting final results.
  • Coordinate data and maintain databases, prepare and maintain files data files, format and transmit data to statistical center, prepare reports in support of research data to ensure adherence to protocols and quality of information received.
  • Assist lab systems analyst with validation, maintenance, and development of LIMS systems.
  • Support lab staff with training and responding to issues surrounding lab software issuing support tickets to vendors and/or IT department as necessary.
  • Assist lab statisticians and systems analyst with data processing, QC,analysis, and transmission to offsite statistical centers as necessary to ensure accurate reporting of data.
  • Work closely with statistical center to troubleshoot any issues with data reporting.Interact with internal and external investigators to collect, track,and report data.
  • Coordinate and participate in data preparation for computer processing and analysis; record data, track study and assay progress, write summaries and create reports and graphic representation as required.Work with antigen tracker group to collect, analyze, and track the performance of assay components across studies and ongoing laboratory efforts.
  • Maintain files of data and related information.
  • Recommend new methods for collection and documentation of data.
  • Assist in preparation of reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
  • Write and revise procedural manuals, validation reports, and other regulatory documentation working closely with lab staff and quality assurance department.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a biological or related field.
  • Experienced with Windows OS, including Microsoft office, and experience picking up and working with various software applications is highly preferred.
  • Prefer 1 - 2 years programming experience in any of the following languages: R, SAS, VBA, JS, HTML, CSS, SQL
  • Preferred knowledge or interest of clinical trials, biological laboratory research, and surrounding regulatory principles normally acquired through education, training, or experience
  • Preferred knowledge or interest in data collection, data management tools such as spreadsheets and databases, and various laboratory software normally acquired through education, training, or experience.
