DCI OFFICE OF RESEARCH SUPPORT

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

Responsible for administrative and secretarial duties of a complex and confidential nature in support of the Duke Cancer Institutes (DCI) Finance Team's day-to-day operations and long terms goals to strengthen the service we provide to our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Meetings Coordinate meetings, reserve rooms, send invitations. Draft and disseminate agendas. Attend meetings as assigned to take notes, draft summaries, and send follow-up communications. Administrative Draft and assist with writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Manage the SOP database, track changes and versions, disseminate to staff, track staff sign-offs. Originate, draft, and send communications within and outside of the DCI Finance team as needed and assigned. Maintain departmental records and coordinate long-term storage. Finance Team Courier includes obtaining signatures on documents. Maintain supplies and storage. Financial Process Purchase Orders. Order as supplies for the entire team as needed. Order stock supplies. Process Accounts Payable (AP) check requests. Check Processing; receive, log, deposit checks for the Finance team).Manage travel, expenses, and reconcile as assigned.

  3. Excellent time management skills needed to prioritize among many competing priorities.
  4. Attention to detail needed to operate accurately and effectively in the regulatory environment.
  5. Mastery of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  6. Willingness to learn and adapt as the needs arise (curious and has a love of learning)
  7. Friendly, professional, dependable and reliable, especially given that this position will oftentimes have direct contact(written and/or verbal) with our internal and external customers.

Education
