Working with the Senior Manager for Systems and User Services, provide team leadership for two additional Systems analysts. Provide 3rd-tier technical support and advanced troubleshooting for the law school community. Research, specify, and maintain virtual machines, operating systems and software. Keep current on developments and trends in server and network software, and plot long-, medium- and short-term goals to assure the best, most efficient suite of network, file and other services for the law school community. Provide leadership in matters of cybersecurity, software updating, data privacy, and breach prevention and remediation.

Provide technical support on Windows server, macOS and Windows operating systems, remote desktop solutions, mobile operating systems, Microsoft applications and other services provided for the community through Duke's Office of Information Technology (such as Office 365, Box.com and Sympa email lists).

Provide infrastructure support by supporting virtualization (VMWare), disk imaging (Microsoft Configuration Manager 2012; Casper), patching (Casper, CM12, Bigfix), network printing, anti-virus and anti-malware software (Symantec Endpoint Protection), and identity management.

Work with the Office of Information Technology to assure that the wired, Wi-Fi and distributed-antenna cellular networks meet the needs of the law school community. Assist in troubleshooting problems at the law school and advocate for solutions when problems arise.

Recommend goals for providing and sunsetting services to assure the best, most efficient suite of services for the law school community. Plan for and document disaster recovery procedures under a variety of circumstances.

Work with the Office of Information Technology and others on campus on security and privacy measures and policies for law school data, law school hardware, and the use of networked computers and devices.

Perform other duties as required by the Senior Manager for Systems and User Services, or by the Assistant Dean for Academic Technologies.

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, plus minimum 5 years of increasingly advanced IT experience, or equivalent level of education and experience.

Preferred: Educational achievement preferably through the Master's level in an appropriate or related field.

- Experience with Internet and other networking protocols such as TCP/IP, WINS, DNS, and DHCP
- Expert-level system diagnosis, troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects IT projects
- Experience providing leadership to a team of analysts
