Occupational Summary
This position is responsible for independent performance and trouble-shooting experiments directed to mass spectrometry and immunohistochemical analysis of samples from ocular tissues. These experiments include but not limited to ocular tissue sample preparation, histological analysis of retina structure, immunohistochemistry, quantitative western blotting and mass spectrometry analysis of protein content.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • The complexity of this research program requires technical skills sufficient for independently performing trouble-shooting and significant portions of experimental design and data analysis.
  • Substantial computer literacy is preferred
  • Experience candidates preferred
Work Performed
  • Conduct, analyze and trouble-shoot experiments independently
  • Review scientific literature to keep abreast of new developments and to obtain information regarding previous experiments to aid in the design and development of optimal procedures and techniques.
  • Discuss data with the Principal Investigator and other PhD scientists in the lab
  • Prepare written reports
  • Present digested literature, data and data analysis at laboratory meetings
