Training Content Developer
Conduct end-user needs assessments and performance assessments, analyze results to determine learning needs and performance gaps. Consult with clients to identify new requirements and strategies. Work with the instructional design team (instructional designers, graphic artists, programmers) and project and program managers to design responsive training and/or performance support solutions and schedules. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the ISD process and fosters design innovation. Capture and diagram workflow processes, conducts task analysis and work flow observations. Participate in visual design, prototyping, and usability testing and evaluation. Review products throughout analysis, design, and development for style guidelines, writing standards, and sensible course/task flow.
Develop and document instructor-led, paper-based, and technology delivered curricula or performance support solutions. Technical and Core Competencies include: demonstrated ability with word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation tools (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); working knowledge of at least one development tool (e.g. Oracle User Productivity Kit); broad knowledge of the field of human-computer interaction and performance-centered design; demonstrated ability to present complex information clearly; strong oral and written communication skills; strong skills presentation, facilitation, interpersonal and client interaction skills; meticulous attention to detail; demonstrated ability to act a technical editor; proven experience as a team player. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Participate in all Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) phases within an Agile Development environment to define, design, develop, test, implement, maintain, and sustain the Integrated Personnel and Pay System - Army (IPPS-A) training solution and make recommendations for corrections or improvements for training products. Develop training products, participate in development strategy sessions, and conduct training sessions on the use of IPPS-A to the field within a classroom or virtual environment. Conduct training classes in the field in coordination with system deployment and implementation. Serve as a Training expert in in the use of the ADDIE Instructional Design process to plan, design, develop, test, and deliver training and training products in Computer Based Training, Instructor Led Training, Virtual Training, Distance Learning (Asynchronous and Synchronous), and Electronic Performance Support System s(EPSS) formats using training development tools such as the Oracle User Productivity Kit (UPK) 12.0.
- Active Secret clearance. - Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Systems Design, Education, Training/Curriculum Development, or a related field; Master's Degree is preferred. - 5-8 of related experience (10 years of experience is preferred). - Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). - Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. - Ability to design, develop, and implement learner centered training products using development tools such as Oracle User Productivity Kit (UPK) 12.0. - 4+ years of experience with Training Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems. - 4+ years of experience providing instruction to users on automated systems. - Ability to coordinate and work effectively with subject matter experts. - Experience planning, designing, developing, testing, and implementing classroom, and distance learning training, to include instructor products (lesson plans, training aids). - Experience developing organizational training plans and training management processes and procedures, and developing and maintaining associated documentation. - Possess organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. - Ability to support client at sites where working conditions may vary. - Ability to travel as necessary.
