Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Department of Anthropology at the University of North Texas invites applications for a 1-year visiting assistant professor in applied anthropology with a focus in environmental anthropology for the 2017-2018 academic year.

The successful applicant will be prepared to teach undergraduate and graduate anthropology courses, including topics in environmental anthropology. Other topics may include methods, theory, or a geographic area. The successful applicant will be prepared to mentor graduate students on thesis work, be willing to teach distance education courses, work on research agenda, and contribute to the service of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have a PhD in anthropology at the time of appointment. Applicants must have primary expertise in applied environmental anthropology. Geographic area is open.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate scholarly accomplishment, as shown by their educational background, previous research, and/or publication record. Preference will also be given to applicants with previous teaching experience and experience with applied projects.
