Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Department of Communication Studies at the University of North Texas invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, performance-based, Lecturer appointment in Interpersonal/Organizational Communication beginning Fall 2017 (three-year renewable contract with the possibility of extending the initial appointment as well as promotion).
The faculty member will teach upper-division, undergraduate courses at UNT's Denton and Frisco campuses each semester; he or she will also teach the department's foundational undergraduate research course, convert select courses to blended formats, and provide service to the department, college, and university. The teaching load for this position is 4/4. Anticipated areas of teaching include interpersonal communication, organizational communication, computer-mediated communication, nonverbal communication, and other areas consistent with departmental need and the candidate's background.

Lecturer applicants must possess a completed Master's Degree in Communication Studies or a closely related field by August 15, 2017. Candidates should have also have experience teaching college courses.
A Ph.D. or ABD is preferred, as is a record of scholarly activities resulting in academic conference presentations or scholarly publications. Demonstrated experience networking within corporate, business, or organizational settings is desired. Experience with course development, teaching in online, blended or hybrid formats, and in supervising teaching assistants and/or adjuncts is also preferred.
