Job Summary/Basic Function:
Responsibilities: Teach all levels of undergraduate and graduate courses in ceramics, including clay fabrication techniques, clay and glaze mixing and application, and firing in electric and gas/wood kilns. Working with the ceramics lab technician, there are some maintenance and supervision responsibilities. Faculty is expected to maintain an active professional practice, and participate in the development and coordination of the ceramics program. On-going, active participation in institutional committees and student advising is expected.

Minimum Qualifications:
MFA in Ceramics or related field with demonstrated teaching experience and an active record of creative work appropriate to rank. The successful candidate will have proficiency in a wide variety of clay construction processes and firing techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants with a broad understanding of contemporary trends in ceramics including its history, theory and practice. Teaching and some studio management experience beyond graduate school preferred.
