Seeking Digital Communications Analytics and Public Relations Lecturer (multi-year)
The Frank W. & Sue Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas in Denton invites applications for a continuing, non-tenure track appointment as a lecturer for digital communications analytics and public relations to begin in the Fall 2017 semester.
This full-time faculty member should be prepared to teach classes in digital communications analytics topics including social media analytics, data visualization, coding and statistical analysis, as well as other public relations and journalism courses as needed by the school. Experience teaching online courses is a plus. The faculty member will participate in department activities and serve on committees. Excellence in teaching and mentoring diverse students and alumni are of primary importance.

The Mayborn School of Journalism: We are an ACEJMC-accredited school with Texas's only accredited journalism master's program. We are located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, in the fifth largest media market in the country. We enroll approximately 1,200 undergraduate students and 40 graduate students. Graduates have won many national and international awards including Cannes Lions and Pulitzer Prizes. By the time of appointment, candidates must have a master's degree (or higher) in journalism, communications, public relations, digital communications or another field relevant to the classes taught. The successful candidate must have three to five years of professional experience in digital communications with strong skills in one or more of the following topics: social media analytics, data visualization, coding and statistical analysis. Applicants with a master's degree in other disciplines who have extensive professional digital communications experience will also be considered. The candidate must be willing and able to mentor a diverse population of journalism students.
The ideal candidate can create and execute communications strategies by applying public relations principles. The ideal candidate has a strong professional network that may foster student internship and job opportunities, has experience teaching college-level courses in public relations and digital communications analytics and is prepared to develop and teach online classes.
