Animal skills­
  • handling, breeding and maintaining mice in an established colony -- this includes skills in animal husbandry; animal identification and tracking (ear punch); animal sexing; and using various techniques to genotype mice
  • harvesting bone marrow and spleens from mice (for cell culture)
  • irradiation of mice
  • injection of mice (IV, retro-orbital, intraperitoneal) with cellular materials and/or various compounds
tumor implantation at various sites and tumor monitoring

Molecular biology/biochemical analytic skills
  • quantitative (real time) PCR
  • immunoblotting (western)
Cellular analysis skills
  • Multi-parameter flow cytometry (surface and intracellular analysis; cytometric bead array)
  • light microscopy
Tissue culture skills
  • culture of mouse and human cells
