RESEARCH TECHNICIAN II - NEUROSURGERY

Occupational Summary

The research technician will perform a variety of translational research investigations involving rodent pediatric brain tumor models and brain tumor immunotherapy.

Duties will include the following:
-Maintain multiple human brain tumor cell lines.
-Surgically implant brain tumor cells into the brains and CSF of mice.
-Conduct periodic motor and behavioral assessments of rodents.
-Perform protein analysis # Immunohistochemistry on human and animal brain specimens # ELISA # Westerns -Flow cytometry
-Assist with thepreparation and revision of Duke IACUC protocols and other regulatory work.
-Perform experiments as specified by standard operating procedures and develop additional Methods as required.
- Ordering and stocking lab supplies via Buy@Duke - Maintain laboratory equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab.

Perform other related duties and special projects as requested. Experience handling rodents and maintaining human tumor cell lines is desired but not mandatory for application.
