News Writer with Digital Storytelling Skills

The Office of Communication Services at Duke University seeks a news writer with experience in telling compelling stories in different formats.

This curious individual is a resourceful communicator who will contribute various journalistic skills on any given day in support of Duke's programs and initiatives. Duke is the size of a small city, and this writer will help cover it: One day, the writer may write about the construction of a new campus building and the next day, the individual could be examining data on health trends for a cover story in the award-winning employee print publication. The successful candidate will write well-crafted and engaging news and feature stories for print and online, shoot and edit short videos, take photos, contribute to social media, and help build and execute successful strategic PR/communications plans.
