Swarthmore College is a member of the NCAA Division III, ECAC and the Centennial Conference. The Department of Physical Education & Athletics is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Head Field Hockey Coach.
The successful candidate will understand the mission of Swarthmore College and the role that intercollegiate athletics plays to support it. They will also coordinate all aspects of the program including organization, administration, budget management, alumni relations, fundraising, and adherence to Conference policies. The successful candidate will also develop and maintain positive communication with alumni, parents, and friends of the program. Teaching of physical education and an additional responsibility within the department will be expected, as well as other duties as assigned by the director of athletics. - Bachelor's degree, although strong preference will be given to those who have a Master's degree and head coaching experience.
- Strong recruiting, teaching, and coaching skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with student-athletes, faculty, administration, and community.
- Must possess a record of successful leadership in competitive field hockey and understand the role of athletics within the educational framework of a highly competitive academic environment.
