Duties: The Social Media Specialist is a full time staff position in the Basser Center for BRCA within the Abramson Cancer Center. The Specialist will develop, implement and manage content for the Basser Center for BRCA's social media platforms in support of the Center's outreach and educational efforts. He/she will develop and maintain tools and reports for scheduling social media content across platforms (currently Facebook and Twitter) and will create and manage a blog for the Center. The candidate will conduct regular audits to determine effectiveness of various social media strategies and campaigns and will make recommendations for improvements. The Social Media Specialist will monitor social media channels and work collaboratively with other team members and departments to create relevant content and will analyze and report on growth, engagement and overall impact of the Center's social media efforts.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related function and at least three years of social media marketing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; experience with email marketing and CMS required. Knowledge of strategic social media, influencer marketing and public relations practices required. Understanding of major social media platforms, including but not limited to YouTube, Facebook and Twitter both as a marketer and as a user. Knowledge of, or ability to quickly master and use, social media listening, reporting, and scheduling and analytics tools (e.g Google Analytics).
Demonstrated creation and identification of quality social media content.
General understanding of CMS and HTML. General understanding of SEO. Excellent time management, organizational, communication, analytical, and collaborative skills and attention to detail required. Excellent judgment in understanding and effectively executing media aligned with our brand identity. Demonstrated proficiency with current software, hardware and equipment used in the position; willingness and ability to stay up-to-date with upgrades or changes, including Google Analytics, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Excel, Sprout Social. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and make good independent decisions in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy of work and delivering in a timely manner. Ability to staff events as needed (including occasional nights and weekends) to provide social media coverage. Ability to incorporate institutional priorities and departmental strategy into decision-making and work.
