Position Summary: This job is in a complex environment which offers the applicant the challenge and rewards of helping patients with a wide spectrum of brain and nervous system disorders, specifically Alzheimer's and dementia. The position consists of performing patient assessments, telephone triage and interviews with patients, provides patient education and coordination of services for patients and families; coordinates and assists faculty in conducting clinical research projects; involves the use of subcutaneous and intramuscular injections and intravenous infusion skills.

Faculty: Minimum Qualifications Support Staff: Minimum Requirements Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four year college degree program in nursing; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in nursing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; possession of a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Michigan.

Typing Requirements (wpm):

Desired Qualifications: Specialty training and experience in neurology; knowledge and experience in coordinating and performing clinical research including performing injections and intravenous infusions. Experience administering rating scales is desired.

Summary of Health Risks and Physical Demands (if applicable): Duties associated with this position involve exposure to human blood, serum, tissue and other body fluids; and materials covered under Universal Precautions; and TB risk or work within 3 feet of human patients in a health care setting or have potential exposure to animal or specimens with Mycobacterium bovis.
