Job Summary The duties of this position require a combination of technical expertise, leadership ability, and professional communication skills in order to support a suite of high-profile mission-critical University of Georgia services, including the UGA Mobile App and the MyUGA Portal. This position is an excellent opportunity for a technical leader with client management expertise who is looking to make a significant positive contribution to the University of Georgia community. This position is responsible for the management of the Academic Application Services group, which includes MyUGA Portal, the UGA Mobile App, the Xitracs accreditation management system, the Instructor of Record Credentialing (IoR), the Faculty Information Records System (FIRST), the SACS accreditation website, the Student Advising and Guidance Expert (SAGE) utility, and the UGA Elements online repository of professional activities for faculty members. This position also manages the team responsible for cloud-based website hosting and management of campus websites through the OmniUpdate OU Campus CMS. This position is responsible for ensuring the support, maintenance, and continuing development of these applications, including incident response, project management, and ensuring appropriate security, backup, and disaster recovery arrangements for the supported applications. The teams reporting to this position include nine full-time employees, two graduate assistants, and two student workers. This position will be responsible for supervision, evaluation, and delegation of work assignments to subordinate employees in order to ensure that these applications are properly maintained, supported, and updated. This position is also responsible for data flow design decisions and application architecture planning for current and upcoming applications supported by this group. This position will supervise positions that are accountable to clients within the University of Georgia, and will be expected to communicate with clients as needed in order to ensure that functional application requirements are fulfilled.
