Job Summary: The Department of Geosciences seeks a part-time, temporary Research Assistant in Oceanographic Data Management. Duties will include assisting with the documentation, management and archival of large oceanographic datasets, writing and documenting original Matlab code, and interacting with project scientists and data managers both within and external to Skidmore College. Depending on candidate's qualifications and project needs, duties may also include occasional supervision of undergraduate research students working with large datasets and assistance with oceanographic fieldwork preparation.

Minimum Qualifications: M.S. in oceanography or a relevant natural science, proven experience writing and maintaining original Matlab code for scientific data analysis, familiarity with types and formats of oceanographic field data, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with undergraduate research students, and with preparing for oceanographic fieldwork.
