Assistant, Associate or Professor IN WATER STUDIES AND SUSTAINABILITY
The College of Engineering at the University of Missouri (MU) is hiring up to 4 new faculty in the area of Water Studies and Sustainability. These positions are essential building blocks for a strong sustainable water resources research theme at MU. They are well integrated into current campus centers and initiatives, including the Missouri Water Resources Research Center, the CAFNR Center for Watershed Management and Water Quality, and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. This search is part of a broad effort to recruit up to 50 new faculty in the areas of sustainability (food, energy, water, and smart cities); big data analytics; and innovations in biomedicine. Under the leadership of Dean Elizabeth Loboa, we seek to hire creative, interdisciplinary faculty at the levels of assistant, associate, and full professor to meet state and national needs in these areas.
Applicants should have research expertise in water sustainability in one or more of the following:
• hydrologic processes and process modeling in aquatic ecosystems
• biological interactions and feedback mechanisms with water quality and quantity (e.g., ecohydrology and hydrobiology)
• conjunctive studies in groundwater/surface water management, water transport, drinking water treatment, wastewater treatment and reclamation in urban environments
• smart or integrated devices useful in monitoring water quality and hydrologic processes
• water resources and environmental engineering
• hydroclimatology, water policy and water management
• the water, energy, and food nexus.
The candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in one or more of these areas.
Successful applicants will have:
• the highest degree awarded in their discipline;
• a record of interdisciplinary research appropriate to the level of the appointment; and
• a strong potential to establish externally funded research programs in the stated areas.
Joint hiring between the College of Engineering and other colleges/schools (e.g., the College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources, the College of Arts & Science) is possible. Salary Commensurate with Education and Experience.
